Early Autumn 2003

Firstly, many thanks to all the new members of Jayl.Net who joined during August and September. We really appreciate your support. It is fantastic that we have members all over the world and that Jayl.Net is growing so fast.

The team who worked on the video for "Sweet Baby Shark" were Jayl on lead vocals, Jimmie Bone on guitar and the multi-talented Susannah on backing vocals and choreography. Susannah put together an amazing team of dancers ... these included the brilliant Tahliah, who is the UK Youth Freestyle Champion, dancing with the gorgeous Alice Sivil. Lilboo, Kaos and Quake from the street & break dance team - 'Urban X.' There was also Big Boy Mooster, who is fast becoming a street dance phenomenon! In the cages were Lynsey Copestake, Donna Bevan, Claire Davis and Carol-Anne MacIntyre. Dancing in front of Jayl on the stage were girls from the Cirencester Creative Dance Academy - Penny Martin, Sophie Gooding, Lottie Selwyn and Charlotte Booth. Dancing on the bar itself were Christina Connors, Sarah Dennis, Chantelle Prince and Rachel Claridge. The video also featured the beautiful Tasha Hayter, in a dramatic role as the 'mystery girl.' The DJ for the event was Time's very own - Chris Connor. Jayl's long established friend and colleague Mike Walter directed the shoot, in collaboration with the film crew - Atlas Films of Blakeney. The documentary was filmed by Peter Bryenton whose work is featured all over this site. What a crew! A fresh and vibrant blend of diverse and original young talent. The photography was by the brilliant Robin Paske. You can now view clips of both the video and documentary by visiting our Cinema page.

Jayl has also been working on new songs with Jimmie Bone. They recently completed a ballad for a very special friend which was written on the piano. The song is called "Forevelien" and at present it is very exclusive and can only be heard in The Netherlands. The other new Jayl / Jimmie Bone collaboration is called "Evoke." It is a dark, savage and haunting dance number with powerful lyrical content and it will be included on the final album release.

You will soon be able to purchase new Jayl products in our Online Shop. There will be an Enhanced CD single and also a DVD of the video and documentary. Jayl.Net members will be able to get these products at special rates.

Meanwhile, we still have a few special first editions left of Jayl's two prototype CD's - "8 Beasts" and "Without Limit." They are individually numbered and signed. "8 BEASTS" is a Trance, Dance, Drum 'n Bass, Rock & Lyrical Fusion produced by Jayl & Jimmie Bone. This makes for a ferocious, original and magical blend. "WITHOUT LIMIT" is Savage, Eventual, Evocative and Diverse. Be in NO DOUBT ... this double CD breaks new boundaries ... you will be mesmerized! There has NEVER been anything like this produced before. As always with the man, this work does not fit into any one genre... it is totally unique and fresh. Both CD's also feature the phenomenal vocals of Jayl's protégé Liz McCoy. This young genius is going to be a big star! The final album, which we intend to release at Christmas, will be a selection from these two masterpieces... essentially the 10 best tracks from 32. As there are no weak tracks at all on either CD, the final album promises to be electrifying!

There are clips of the work all over this site and also on the page of Jayl's Global Jukebox - Jaylitzer. There are also a selection of MP3's available for FREE at Jayl's Mp3.Com site, including the opening track to "8 Beasts" - "Sorcery (Big Fat Bone Mix)." The song "Treachery," from "Without Limit," was recently played on BBC Radio One on The John Peel Show and we have had some very positive feedback about this massive track. "Providence" was 'Song of the Week' on BowieNet during the last week of January and was then followed in this honour by "Shadow of the Moon." This was 'Song of the Week' during the last week of February.

It will not be long before Jayl's own Internet Radio Station (Jayl Ice Gold) is up and running ... indeed, the first broadcast is currently being prepared. We are sorry for the delay of this project, but obviously the video has taken priority. Meanwhile though, you can still hear Jayl's music at TransmissionTransition ... an Internet Radio Station run by the multi-talented BowieNetter & JaylNetter DJ RaMOANa and featuring the enigmatic DJ Angel.

Meanwhile, please feel free to leave contributions and comments about Jayl's work and anything relating to this site at the Jayl.Net forum ... Jayl's Forum

We would also like to thank the sponsors of the video shoot - Gloucestershire Heritage and Conservation and also the MMR Research Trust - two organizations close to Jayl's heart. UK based company Uproc who are importers of UFO Jeans from New York, Gloucester Singer / Songwriter Dave Regan - Insurrection.org.uk, Gloucester company World of Stationery and also Lansdown Studios in Cheltenham, where rehearsals took place.

Thought for the month ... "I'll let you be in mine, hon ... if I can be in your one!" Jayl - 'Dare'
