One of the most exciting aspects of both the "Without Limit" CD and the "8 Beasts" CD is the collaboration of Jayl with Liz McCoy. This beautiful singer, from Cheltenham, in Gloucestershire, England, is quite simply an outstanding young talent. Her voice is unique and completely original. She combines a full and sumptuous soft tone, a husky hard ferocity and a soulful and passionate edge that makes for a powerful and incredibly sexy combination. Moreover, the blending of her voice with Jayl's is totally magnificent! This really is a 'beauty and the beast' alliance! (But who is beauty and who is the beast??!!) Indeed, their collaboration is first heard on track 1 of the "Without Limit" album on the song actually entitled "Magnificent."Liz enters later in the song with a most haunting vocal which seriously captures the mood of the album and her voice. After this, there are then collaborations on 4 further tracks; "Leap", where Liz delivers powerful and memorable backing vocals, "Dare", a dance track where Jayl and Liz share the vocals and "Legend's End", a lyrical guitar based song where Jayl sings the verses and Liz sings the chorus. Finally, (once again on the subject of beasts!) there is the evoking and revolutionary last track on the album, "Four Beasts in One." On this remarkable piece, Liz and Jayl share the vocals throughout, exploring different styles within the same track. Not only do they duet the singing, but Liz has contributed lyrics to the piece. It must be said these are lyrics of great insight, demonstarating a wisdom way beyond her years. It also clearly shows Liz McCoy's poetic ability and the world can look forward with relish to more lyrics from her, which will no doubt induce her generation, and in fact every generation, to sit up and take notice of what she has to say. The "Without Limit" CD represents exactly what it says and before it has even been officially released, it has bred a new CD containing trance, chill-out and drum & bass mixes of 4 of the "Without Limit" songs, "Dare " and "Four Beasts in One" being at the forefront of this exciting new project - "8 Beasts." The production and re-mixing is the work of Jimmie Bone and these tracks are savage and expansive. He has worked the Jayl and Liz McCoy vocals in a very innovative way without losing the essence of the sound; it is truly kicking! Furthermore, there are 2 brand new songs on the CD, one of which is the amazing and sinister "Maelström." Once again Jayl and Liz share the vocals on this darkwave fusion; if you are reading this and have not yet heard this track, then you seriously need to. Absolute passion and total brilliance! Liz McCoy is quite obviously a very refreshing and gorgeous new talent who cannot be ignored. She is Jayl's greatest protégé and it is not just a question of looking and sounding great; she shares Jayl's attitudes towards the pervading bullshit, now prevalant within the music industry and society itself. She refuses to be yet another manufactured act or to pander to the common view. She has her own style, ideals and agenda, so the world better watch out! HERE & NOW.. refreshing, beautiful and original.. a scorpion princess.. Liz McCoy.
