Work
on the new album is progressing fast. Two new songs with
Andy
Wood have recently been composed and
another song is currently being worked with Jimmie
Bone. Dutch Singer/Songwriter
Landa
has been in England recently and has now
completed her parts for the new album. Jayl would like to thank
Landa for all her amazing work on the album. They have composed
3 songs together. Jayl is very proud of these songs and the collaboration.
Another
session with Andy Wood is planned for March.

During
the autumn, Jayl worked on a photographic project with his friend
and student - Amy Lion. They roamed around Gloucestershire &
the Forest of Dean for a day and produced some very interesting
work. Entitled "Growth & Decay" - they are proud
to present Part 1 of their project here on Jayl.Net.

Artwork
for the project, including the front cover, is being created by
Romney Marsh artist Terry
Anthony, an artist Jayl has been working with for many years.
Terry originally created the cover for Jayl's debut CD - "The
World & the Hooded Man" in 1997. Jayl, Jimmie Bone &
Landa also recently provided the music for an exhibition of Terry's
works, where the front cover for the new album was revealed for
the first time. Terry has also just finished a beautiful piece
for the song "Delivered", a small section of which is
featured on the link to the left.

One
of the first pieces written for the new album was the Jayl/Andy
Wood composition - "The Violin Player." The song is
currently featuring on Jayl's Internet Radio Station JAYL
ICE GOLD
and was also chosen as Original Music of
the Week on David Bowie's website BOWIE.NET
last year.

A
complete
revamp of Jayl.Net is also planned for 2007. We understand that
people are getting lost on Jayl.Net, but lets be honest, it is
a vast and fascinating mystery tour that has grown and grown with
the large volume of work that has been created. So if you can't
find what your looking for, we make no apologies, but we do intend
to collate the site and make it easier to find where you are!
For
now, if you do feel lost, the best place to go is back to the
MAIN ARENA or visit the ARCHIVES.
Diversity
is always a major feature in Jayl's agenda and you can look back
over other amazing projects from the last 3 years by visiting
the archives page. These projects include Jayl & Bone's"Sweet
Baby Shark" project and their Drum 'n Bass "Beastin'
175" project with DJ Detox.

Last
year, in the magnificent setting of Gloucester Cathedral, Jayl
& Jimmie Bone instigated yet another unique and innovative
project. As part of their continued collaborations with up-and-coming
young artists, they got together with the Gloucester Academy of
Music to record a lost masterpiece - "In the Forest"
by Adelina de Lara - the world famous concert pianist. The piece
was written in 1949 and has never been recorded before.
The
session is still awaiting final mixing, but meanwhile, the Academy
performed the piece @ the Tewkesbury Festival earlier last year.

THOUGHT
FOR THE WEEK -
"In
the winter, in the time of discontent, we'll walk in icy shards
of light, on slates of frost on stalagnites ... In the gloom, when
the laughter's cast aside - put cats in coffee, mice in tea, welcome
Queen of Mercury."
Jayl - "Mercurial"
