Jayl is currently focussing on his project with the brilliant Dutch Singer/Songwriter Landa. She is here in England working on the next phase of the project. She travelled to England in February and another new masterpiece - "Dark Angel" was written & recorded. Jayl travelled back to Holland in April to work on the next phase of the project at Landa's Rotterdam studio and during the summer intense production of the work so far, has been taking place. This album is a musical and artistic evolution with completely new innovations and approaches to musical construction. Consequently, the main elements must remain a mystery for now, but Jayl.Net can promise you one of the most powerful, fresh and evocative albums ever created.

Jayl's friend & colleague Andy Wood has recently constructed and recorded guitar parts for all of the songs so far and has now become involved in the writing process too. There have been major sessions during the summer, with an amazing new piece called "Delivered" written and recorded this month. Below is a picture of Andy playing his Violin Bass on the new song.

Jayl & Andy also worked together again in October and completed another new masterpiece for "The Dance of Life"

At Christmas Jayl & Andy composed and recorded "The Violin Player" and presented the piece through Jayl's Internet Radio Station JAYL ICE GOLD. The song then featured as Original Music of the Week on David Bowie's website BOWIE.NET in January.

Artwork for the project, including the front cover, is being created by Romney Marsh artist Terry Anthony, an artist Jayl has been working with for many years. Terry originally created the cover for Jayl's debut CD - "The World & the Hooded Man" in 1997. Jayl & Landa & Jimmie Bone also recently provided the music for an exhibition of Terry's works, where the front cover for the new album was revealed for the first time. Terry has also just finished a beautiful piece for the song "Delivered," which is the featured painting to the left.

During the summer Jayl has built a complete new website for Terry Anthony which just has to be seen! It's full of fantastic art and there are also snips of Jayl & Landa's sounds. On the August Bank Holiday Monday, a new Terry Anthony painting was unveiled at the Court House in Dymchurch, Kent by comedian Vic Reeves and celebrity auction man Michael Hogben. The music of Jayl & Landa & Jimmie Bone will once again be a main feature of the event. Jayl & Jimmie were also in attendance.

Jayl will be back on stage again in the near future ... but not just yet. So for those of you missing his amazing shows or wanting to view a Jayl Show for the first time, a live DVD - "EVOKE" is now available through our webshop. The DVD truly captures the magic of Jayl & his band.

The Jayl.Net Poetry page continues to grow with some of Jayl's finest work, but also poems by Jayl.Net members, colleagues and students.

A book of Jayl's poetry and lyrics is still planned for release and should be ready in early 2007.

We understand that people are getting lost on Jayl.Net, but lets be honest, it is a vast and fascinating mystery tour that has grown and grown with the large volume of work that has been created. So if you can't find what your looking for, we make no apologies, but we do intend to collate the site and make it easier to find where you are! For now, if you do feel lost, the best place to go is back to the MAIN ARENA or visit the ARCHIVES.

Diversity is always a major feature in Jayl's agenda and you can look back over other amazing projects from the last few years by visiting the archives page. These projects include Jayl & Bone's"Sweet Baby Shark" project and their Drum 'n Bass "Beastin' 175" project with DJ Detox.

Last Summer, in the magnificent setting of Gloucester Cathedral, Jayl & Jimmie Bone instigated yet another unique and innovative project. As part of their continued collaborations with up-and-coming young artists, they got together with the Gloucester Academy of Music to record a lost masterpiece - "In the Forest" by Adelina de Lara - the world famous concert pianist. The piece was written in 1949 and has never been recorded before.

This summer, the session is still awaiting final mixing, but meanwhile, the Academy performed the piece again @ the Tewkesbury Festival in May.
