The summer witnessed Jayl's long awaited return to live performing with an intimate and dynamic performance @ the Grand Hotel in Folkestone with Jimmie Bone and star sax man - Matt Clackett.

The trio + Harmony School student Jo Lewis (making her stage debut), performed as 'The Band of Life'. The show included songs by Jayl and Jimmie Bone + an eclectic blend of covers, including acoustic versions of the Smashing Pumpkins "Tonight Tonight" and The Who classic "Won't Get Fooled Again". Money was raised for the important charity - 'East Kent Child Witness Service', and the evening was a triumph with the band being invited back next year for Jayl @ the Grand 2 on Bank Holiday Monday June 4th 2012. Below is a You Tube video clip of the band performing Jayl & Bone's brand new song 'Rocky Road'. It's raw and real and recorded on a phone, but captures a little piece of that magical evening and this wonderful new song. The recording of 'Rocky Road' is currently undergoing its final mixing stage @ Jayl's new Angel Studio and will be released on CD for the new year.

'The Band of Life' performed again at Ruardean Memorial Hall in the Forest of Dean in September. The show included support from Jayl's Harmony School students and gospel choir 'Instruments of Praise'. It's exciting times at Jayl's Harmony School with a major expansion taking place.
