Since last autumn Jayl has experinced one of the most challenging and painful phases of his life. However, as a true warrior of light, he has remained relentless on his quest for creation and magic. In the autumn, Jayl went to London and worked with his friend and colleague Grace Graznak to complete the filming of his long-awaited 'Delighted' video. The video stars both Grace and Jayl and was filmed over 1½ years at a variety of locations including a live performance @ the Sub Rooms in Stroud. Whilst filming on the banks of the Thames, Jayl and Grace did a spot of mudlarking (searching for historical artefacts), which inspired Jayl to write his highly original 'Princess of the Source' - which you can download here. It is a historical, mythical and spiritual story displaying an incredible depth of imagination and research.

In January 2010, Jayl's unique and beloved studio cat - Mint Caracal was diagnosed with cancer and passed away on February 14th - the day of love; an appropriate day for a creature so cherished and loved. A week before her death, Jayl recorded her beautiful tonal purr for a track of nature entitled 'The Chimes of Life' - which you can download here and has now become part of a new CD - 'The Dance of Life' - Special Veterinary/Chillin' Version - to be used in the calming and for the pleasure of animals. Yes - Jayl is making music for all creatures of this planet and beyond! During the freezing and snow-bound winter and particularly during Mint's illness, Jayl edited the 'Delighted' video himself and dedicated it to Mint's memory. Her desperate plight and subsequent death caused deep trauma and heartache, as any of you who have lost a beloved pet will be able to relate to.

Alas, 3 weeks later in early March Jayl became ill with a throat virus which then developed serious complications. This resulted in him completely losing his voice and being unable to sing or perform for 4 months. During this time, Jayl was commisssioned by his friend and artist Terry Anthony, to produce music for his exhibition Syn @ the Grand, held at The Grand Hotel - Folkestone in late April. Jayl produced a CD 'The Dance of Life'- Special Exhibition Version which worked brilliantly as accompaniment to Terry's paintings. Jayl also attended the exhibition and had some great photos taken with the maestro - shots recently featured in the prestigious 'Kent Life' magazine. The combination of Terry and Jayl's art worked so well, that the special CD will again be used at a new exhibition called Syn @ St.Nicholas - to be held at the ancient St.Nicholas Church - New Romney, Kent during the week of Halloween.

During the summer, despite further health challenges, Jayl has continued to work on getting fit and well with a view to returning to the stage in the near future. As a part of this quest, he recently played in a football tournament @ the Emirates Stadium as goalkeeper and captain of an Arsenal Gloucester 5-a-side team. Jayl is now in the process of editing a new video - 'Ghosts of the Underground' - also filmed in London with Grace Graznak. This video will feature on a new DVD to be released this autumn.

Meanwhile, a major revamp of Jayl.Net and the 'The Dance of Life' website are being undertaken. These major updates will also include a Facebook band page, a Jayl Blog and a new enhanced mailing list at Reverb Nation.
