Adelina de Lara - Anthology
Adelina de Lara in 1896 - Drawn by Emily J. Harding & Exhibited in the Royal Academy

On August 1st 2005, in the magnificent setting of Gloucester Cathedral, Jayl & Jimmie Bone instigated yet another unique and innovative project. As part of their continued collaborations with up-and-coming young artists, they got together with the Gloucester Academy of Music to record a lost masterpiece - "In the Forest" by Adelina de Lara - the world famous concert pianist. Adelina was also Jayl & Jimmie's Great-Grandmother and was very close to their mother Wendy. The piece was written in 1949 and has never been recorded before.

The evening was truly extraordinary and as well as producing the work in its entirety as it was recorded on the night, Jayl & Jimmie will be taking extracts from the piece to use as the basis of a new classical/contemporary album. This will be a diverse and fascinating fusion which once again, will push the borders and break new ground. The recording is still being edited and mixed.

Furthermore, the Academy performed the piece live at The Abbey School, Tewkesbury on December 12th as part of their 2005 Christmas concert.

The Academy will be performing the piece again @ the Tewkesbury Festival on May 25th 2006. Jayl & Jimmie will be in attendance.
